Reverend Do Hyun Kim was ordained as the Pastor of The Presbyterian Church of Korea. From 1992-2001 he worked as a Korean Pastor for the Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches in Switzerland. He wrote his thesis on Korean Birthmothers and received his Masters in Philosophy at the Theological School of the University of Birmingham, U.K. Since April 2004 he has been working as the director of KoRoot, a support organization and guesthouse for adoptees in Seoul. As the director of KoRoot, he is running diverse programs for returning adoptees and giving lectures to raise awareness about intercountry adoption issues in Korean society.

KoRoot provides various services, including: translation, birth family search, vocational education programs and diverse cultural projects related to intercountry adoption by publishing books, hosting public forums, holding film screenings and producing films. Its vision is to establish an international network of Korean adoptees and to promote awareness about intercountry adoption issues.
